Description

Childrenswear retailer Mothercare has announced that it is to cut up to 140 shopfloor managers as part of a restructuring to turn around the loss-making business. 620 managers are understood to have been put at risk of redundancy with it being reported that between 120 and 140 jobs are expected to go. The move is expected to result in a saving of 1.3 million GBP and put the company's payroll-to-sales ratio in line with competitors. The company has confirmed that it has begun consultation with those at risk. The timescale for the job losses is not yet known. .
