Description
Schulte, German manufacturer of meat products, is planning to give notice to 62 out of its 252 employees in Dissen by the end of September 2015. In addition, between 40 and 50 temporary staff will have to leave the company. The Menzefricke plant and the Wusterhausen location are closing.
The company has been struggling for several years and originally announced a year ago plans for dismissing 170 of its employees. The works council is now pleased that the job reduction is not as extensive and considers the job cuts as a “sustainable solution”.
The social plan set in place does not foresee the setting up of a transfer agency. Employees who accept the dismissal will receive a one off payment of €5,000. The job reduction mainly targets young employees without children.
