The multinational producer of pharmaceutical products, Pfizer, has invested 75 million euro in a production unit creating sterile doses of the pneumococcal vaccine Prevenar 13 at its Puurs facility, creating 100 extra jobs. Employment here has grown from 1,100 employees in 2010 to a scheduled 1,600 employees at the end of 2016.
The managing director indicated that one of the attractions for the US company to invest in Puurs has been the good technical training of employees. The production of this specific vaccine was done to date in the United States.
