Train manufacturer, Bombardier, has announced that it is to create 150 new jobs. Around 80% of the new roles are expected to be at its Derby headquarters and will be for engineers and project managers. Bombardier employs 1,600 at Derby and a further 1,900 at seven other UK sites. The new jobs follow a number of new contracts for the firm including a contract for the Crossrail train company announced in 2014 as well as a contract to add carriages to London Overground services. It is not known when the new jobs are expected to be filled.
