It is not reported when the job losses will take effect, but it is understood that the majority of the affected jobs will be at the headquarters in Hampshire. At the same time as cutting jobs at the headquarters the company will also create 50 frontline roadside assistance positions. The company has been subject to various takeovers and buyouts over recent years, since it was sold into private hands in 1999; it had previously been owned by the membership.
