Crisp manufacturer Walkers is reported to be making job cuts at one of its factories in Leicester. The company is owned by US food and drink multinational PepsiCo. The Bursom road site in Leicester employs 381 people and it is understood that 56 of these positions are to go. A spokesperson for the company commented that the factory is to undergo a major overhaul, and job cuts are required in order for the company to remain competitive. A formal consultation process will be entered shortly. The timetable for the job losses will be announced following the consultation process.
