Description
Barrow-based candle manufacturer, PartyLite, has announced that it is to close its manufacturing facilities in Cumbria resulting in the loss of 150 jobs. The announcement comes after the parent company, Blyth Inc., took the decision to concentrate production in Chicago, USA. It is reported that the site currently employs 125 permanent staff, 25 temporary staff and 6 agency staff. The closure dates are yet to be made public, though it is being reported that the factory will close by the 27th of March, 2015, with the full site closure by the 26th of April, 2015.
