Description
Arkomat Bulgaria plans to create between 600 and 700 jobs at its new plant in Bulgaria, located in Karlovo, which is expected to be operational by September 2015. Reportedly, the new plant will produce cable assemblies for vehicles for Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes, Ford, Renault, Peugeot and Citroen. The investment is made by the American company Globe and the Italian ARK-O-MAT- Bulgaria LTD, which is the representative of Globe for Southern Europe.
The location of the new plant in Karlovo is dictated mainly by two reasons - the proximity of Kazanlak (where the first plant operates since 1999 with 1100 employees) and the high unemployment in Karlovo, which is above the national average.
Arkomat was founded in 1982 in Istanbul (Turkey) and it has been manufacturing welding machines and welding equipments since 1997. Since 1994, Arkomat has been an international subcontractor company for VWEST and since the beginning of 2007 – for SE BORDNETZE – BULGARIA (parts supplier for the international automotive industry).
