Description
Potato processor McCain is closing its production site in Grobbendonk. As a consequence of a new centralizing plan, the production will be relocated to a site in Leuze-en-Hainaut. Higher costs at Grobbendonk and the inability to expand the older facility which is in a residential area were cited as reasons for the closure. A Loi Renault collective redundancy procedure has been initiated in respect of 120 workers, of which 90 are blue-collar, production workers. White collar workers without a link to the production department will continue working in Grobbendonk.
