Description

Ericsson Modem Nuremberg is going to close down in May 2015 which will result in a total job loss of 216 positions. A social plan has been set up for the dismissed employees who will be receiving severance payments. In case of not having succeeded in finding a job by May, dismissed employees will also have the opportunity of changing into a transfer agency.

Ericsson, Swedish supplier of mobile service equipment, currently runs 15 sites across Germany. The company has decided to withdraw from providing modem platforms for smartphones which is the reason for this closure. Another 13 German sites will be affected by this business decision.
