Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Sensor-Nite Industrial plans to create 1500 new jobs at its second plant in Bulgaria, located in the industrial zone "Maritza" - part of the Trakia Economic Zone (TEZ), Plovdiv, in early June 2015. As reported, the plant will produce sensors for the automotive industry. Expansion of production has been prompted by the increasing environmental requirements in auto manufacture. The company is already recruiting staff through various channels such as jobs portal jobs.bg.
The new plant will be the second largest of the group worldwide. The first in Bulgaria, opened in 2002 - at Botevgrad (1300 employees) - was also the first in Europe. Sensor-Nite is part of the American company Sensata Technologies - a world leader in sensor and control manufacture. Sensata Technologies currently has business centres and manufacturing sites in Brazil, Bulgaria, China, the Dominican Republic, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland and the United States. Sensata Technologies has 12.100 employees worldwide as of January 1, 2014.
