Description

Hortex, the frozen food and beverages manufacturer, has announced its plan to cut 160 jobs via collective dismissal programme in the factory in Ryki (Lublin Voivodeship). In late December 2014, the company has signed a bilateral agreement with the local trade unions setting out the conditions of the dismissal procedures. Redundant workers will receive a severance pay. The restructuring programme will be implemented in the first quarter of 2015. The implementation of the programme was caused by the Russian embargo imposed on frozen vegetables and fruits.

Hortex was founded in 1958 as a state-owned company and it was privatized in 1994. The company has three plants (in Ryki, Skierniewice and Przysucha near Radom). Currently, the factory in Ryki employs 360 people.
