Description

The Ministry of Employment and the Economy of Finland has finished employer-employee negotiations with the loss of 200 jobs as the outcome, rather than the initial estimate of 700. The reductions are due to austerity cuts by the government and EU-level decisions regarding financial availability through the structural funds. The redundant positions are white-collar jobs.

The Ministry of Employment and the Economy employs a total of 10,700 people in Finland.  The ministry has previously never made people redundant for economic reasons.
