Description

General Electric (GE), an American multinational corporation, announced plans to create 400 new jobs at its first global ‘brilliant’ factory in Bielsko-Biała by the end of 2015. The new facility will be one of the largest in the region and it will replace four existing units employing 800 people (all jobs will be also relocated to the new factory). The factory will combine engineering, development, testing and manufacturing operations in a centralized, high-tech environment. GE is to invest USD 54 mln (EUR 41,4 mln).

GE has been operating in Poland since 1992. The company has the following production units in Poland: Bielsko-Biała, Dzierżoniów, an engineering design centre in Warszawa and an IT centre for GE Healthcare in Kraków. GE employs 10,000 people across the country.
