Description

Kitchen and bathroom retailer Mark Two Distributors has announced that it is to shed over 300 jobs after the company entered administration. 137 redundancies were made from the home selling division, followed by an additional 196 redundancies from the logistics side of the business. The job losses follow the decision by supermarket group Tesco to close its kitchen and bathroom divisions after it had 'identified concerns' with Mark Two's ability to deliver the level of service which was required. A buyer had been sought for the logistics side of the business, but when that was not forthcoming the administrators announced the second wave of redundancies. Seventeen staff has been retained to assist with the sale of the company's assets.
