Description
Dairy producer Friesland Campina Romania will make 130 employees redundant in Carei (Satu-Mare County) by the end of 2014. The company will close the unit in Carei, relocating its cheese production to Baciu plant (Cluj County) and the cheese packaging unit to Targu Mures plant (Mures County). The staff will receive full company support and assistance in finding future career opportunities, according to the terms of the collective labour agreement. Only few employees, holding key positions, will be relocated to Baciu plant. According to the sources, the company took the decision to shut down the Carei plant and to relocate its production due to deteriorating market conditions, linked with low levels of consumer spending.
