Description
Apogees France, a firm specialising in digital document management systems, has announced an employment saving plan to cut about 91 positions from a total workforce of 250 employees. The plant (former "Sagemcom") was bought by English company Apogees in January 2014 and produces printing equipment. The new owner lost 800,000 euro on a total turnover of 25 m euro in 2014. The unions want to increase the funding for the employment saving plan (plan de sauvegarde de l'emploi, PSE). They highlight that the current social plan measures are less generous than those that were proposed previously by Sagemcom. They suggest that Sagemcom has decided to "outsource" its social plan by selling its unit to Apogees to avoid a much more expensive social plan. Unions have requested a higher training budget as well as aids to support mobility and to increase allowances.
