Description

French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics has announced to its central works council plans to cut 150 jobs. As reported, in the framework of a wolrdwide cost-saving plan affecting 450 jobs in its“digital” activities, a voluntary redundancy plan is envisaged affecting the manufacturing site in Crolles (Isère). The content of the voluntary departure plan will be presented to the central works council on 13 and 14 November. The first departures could start early in 2015 after the information and consultation process.

In 2010 the group has recruited 130 employees in its plant at Rousset (Bouches-du-Rhône) and 250 between 2007 and 2011 in its site in Tours (Indre et Loire).
