Lidl Hellas, the local subsidiary of German global supermarket chain, invests €130 million to the Greek market and creates 280 new job positions.
According to Greek press announcements on the occasion of the inauguration of Lidl Hellas new store at Piraues Avenue, the company invests €130 million till the end of 2014 for the operation of a storage and distribution center in Thessaloniki, the inauguration of additionally 4 new stores in Attiki region and the creation of “bake-off” units within all of its super-market branches. As a result 280 new job positions will be created.
Lidl first entered the Greek market 17 years ago (2001) and currently operates a network of 222 stores in Greece, employing 4,000 staff. Its annual turnover is estimated at around €1.3 billion and its market share stands at around 10 percent.
