Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Publicly owned cleaning and maintenance company Kuntec Infra has initiated employer-employee negotiations concerning its entire staff of 270 people. A maximum of 60 positions are to be cut. The negotiations are estimated to finish by the end of December 2014. The restructuring is due to a decrease in turnover at the same time as machinery and equipment needs to be updated.
Kuntec Infra is a public company owned by the municipality of Turku. It is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of streets and public areas in Turku.
