Description
Finnish sports equipment retailer Top-sport has initiated statutory negotiations to cut 140 positions from its chain of retail stores. The reduction of employees is explained by the decline in retail sales.
Top-sport currently runs 20 stores in all of Finland, of which 14 will be affected by the restructuring. Top-sport is now focusing its attention to boosting sales through its online store.
Update, 08-12-2014: The outcome of the negotiations is that 86 positions will be made redundant from the company. The retailer will close down a total of eight stores in Finland.
