Description
Swets Information Services, journal and newspaper distributor, as well as subscription managers, have been declared bankrupt by the Dutch court on 23 September in 2014, resulting in the immediate termination of all 110 employees. Swets Information Services operated as an intermediary between international publishing agencies and wholesalers of journals and newspapers. There is no current consequence of this bankruptcy on the international subsidiaries of the Swets & Zeitlinger Group. The bankruptcy is a result of the financial crisis as well as the growing popularity of online publishing as opposed to printed journals and newspapers.
