Swedish iron mining company LKAB has announced the creation of 500 new jobs in Svappavaara where they are opening two new iron ore mines. As Svappavaara has a relatively low unemployment the recruitment process will target all of the Norrland region.
LKAB is government owned and employs around 4,100 people of which 600 are outside of Sweden. Earlier this year LKAB announced another business expansion in Mertainen.
