Description

DIY retailer Screwfix has announced plans to open 50 new stores across the UK in 2015.  The move is expected to create 900 new jobs. The company, which is owned by the Kingfisher group, has expanded rapidly in recent years.  60 new stores were opened in 2013 and a further 60 were promised for 2014.

The Kingfisher group also includes DIY giant B&Q, though at the moment Screwfix is the best performing brand owned by the group. The latest quarterly results revealed a sales growth of over 20% up to July 2014.
