Description

Supplier of aerospace and defence technologies UTC Aerospace Systems announced plans to create 970 new jobs at the newly opened Global Engineering Center in Wroc?aw by the end 2015. The company is to employ 270 engineers and about 700 workers in the production section.

The center was built on the site of UTC Aerospace Systems’ existing factory and it focuses on research and development of aircraft solutions. The center also supports nine strategic business units of the company. The facility has an area of over 3,700 m2, including 1,000 m2 used for laboratory purposes. Currently, the centre employs 800 people in the production section and 130 engineers.

UTC Aerospace Systems was formed in 2012 by combining two companies, Hamilton Sundstrand and Goodrich. UTC Aerospace has two factories in Poland located in Krosno and Rzeszów. The company is part of United Technologies Corporation (UTC), which employs about 10,000 people in units across Poland.

The ERM reported on another expansion plan announced by the company in 2012.
