Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Swiss based Coca-Cola Hellenic (HBC) group, the world’s second largest Coca Cola bottler, announced expansion plans and is to create 196 new jobs at its data processing, finance and HR shared services centre. As reported, the firm plans to invest further in its corporate centre in Bulgaria as part of a strategic cost-cutting plan aiming to centralise back office activities for its various business units and improve its productivity, efficiency and governance.Coca-Cola HBC operates in 28 countries and has plants in Europe, Africa and Asia. The Coca-Cola Hellenic Business Services Organisation, launched its activities in 2011 in Sofia and is expected to employ more than 360 staff by August 2014. According to the sources, the firm decided to establish its Business Services Organisation (BSO) in Bulgaria due to the highly skilled workforce and a favourable corporate tax regime.
