Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 15 July 2014, constructor of production sites M+W Germany announced its plans to cut 70 jobs, mainly at its site in Stuttgart. Currently, 300 people work for M+W Germany. The company plans to implement the job reduction by early retirement or offering alternative positions within the M+W Group. The management named decreasing assignments as the main reason; their number shrank by 15 p.c. between 2012 and 2013.
M+W Germany belongs to the M+W Group which currently employs 1,000 people at four subsidiaries in Germany.
