South Korean multinational electronics company Samsung will open a new customer call centre in Leeds, Yorkshire. The decision to locate the call centre has created 358 jobs. The roles are mostly comprised of technical support, customer support, e-mail response and social media jobs; the majority of which were offered on permanent contract basis.
Samsung’s new base has been operational since the middle of May 2014. The recruitment of the 358 new roles has already taken place. The UK Prime Minister, David Cameron has been reported as saying that Samsung’s decision to locate their centre in Leeds was among one of a number of recent major projects that are contributing to the economic renewal underway in the city
