Opening of a new national distribution centre in Cannock, Staffordshire in the West Midlands, by the UK's largest independent courier company APC Overnight will create 140 new full-time jobs. Media reportage indicates that APC Overnight plans for the new jobs to commence by the end of September 2014. The company has indicated that the new jobs will be filled on a permanent contract basis and will include positions such as warehouse operatives and forkilift truck drivers.
The business expansion follows consistent month-on-month company growth. Moreover, APC Overnight is one of the biggest employers in the Staffordshire region. Prior to the creation of these new jobs, the company has created in excess of 200 jobs since the national hub was opened in June 2013.
