Description

Nintendo is to cut 130 jobs at its site in Großostheim. As announced, the European headquarter of the Japanese company shall be transferred to Frankfurt. Currently, 430 people work in Großostheim; 300 of them will be offered to transfer to Frankfurt. Nintendo intends to shut down the site in Großostheim by August.

Nintendo announced to set up a social plan and a transfer agency. There will be negotiations with the works council.

Nintendo is a Japanese manufacturer of games consoles with 6,000 workforce globally (1,100 of them in Germany). In the previous year, the company reported a loss of more than €164 million which is the main reason for the restructuring plans.
