Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Polish oil and gas company Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo (PGNiG), a subsidiary of the PGNiG group, announced that 200 jobs will be cut through a voluntary redundancy scheme. According to the source, the redundancy scheme will run until mid-May.
According to the source, the job cuts are part of a wider restructuring plan for the 2014-2016 period and the company aims to improve its financial and organisational effectiveness. The company is the largest Polish oil and Gas Company and currently employs 8,000 people. Â
