Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Brno-based University hospital (Fakultnà nemocnice u sv. Anny) is to cut 300 jobs out of 3,000 staff due to the economic plight. Doctors, nurses, administrative staff and other employees will be affected. As reported, dismissals will not have a negative effect on patients. The trade unions disagree with the planned layoffs and argue that the hospital should reduce debts through the modification of contracts with insurance companies.
The timeline of the restructuring is not available yet.
