Manston airport in Kent has announced that it is to close with the loss of up to 150 jobs. The Airport is owned by the Stagecoach bus company co-founder Ann Gloag, who bought the site for £1 in October 2013. The airport is reported to have been losing £10,000 per day. Since March 2014 efforts have been made to find a new buyer for the airport, but no viable option for staying open has been found.
