Description
Swedish bread manufacturer Lockarp has announced that it has filed for bankruptcy and will cut 200 jobs across Sweden. Lockarp will close its production sites in Helsingborg (Skåne), Växjö (Småland) and Sölvesborg (Blekinge) and its headquarters in Malmö (Skåne).
The source reports that the bankruptcy is due to a reduction in sales as consumers increasingly buy bread at supermarkets instead of at bakeries. The closure will be in early June. According to the source, the liquidator hopes to find a buyer for all or part of the company.
