Canadian manufacturer of trains and railway equipment Bombardier Transportation announced a job reduction of 250 in Västerås, Sweden. This is to affect 50 consultants, and 200 employees.
According to Bombardier Transportation, the internal restructuring is due to an increasing level of competition in the international railway sector while there is a lowering of demand.
Some employees will be offered to continue to work at Bombardier Transportation as consultants.
The ERM has reported on previous restructuring events at Bombardier Transportation in 2013, 2008, 2004, 2003 and 2002.
