Description
Spanish coal mining company Hullera Vasco Leonesa is to apply a labour force adjustment (ERE) affecting its entire workforce (402 workers). In addition, about 900 employees of subcontracted companies will be affected.
The company has justified the measure with the drop in sales and the end of the state aids.
The union CCOO has rejected the measure. They argue that the drop in sales is associated with cyclical adjustments and that the economy will recover. Moreover, CCOO link the measure to the problems with renewing the company’s collective agreement.
