Description
The liquidation of the books retailer network Chapitre will lead to the dismissal of 434 staff.
This was announced after the company had attempted to sell its 57 shops starting on 2 December 2013. Until 10 February, only 34 of the shops could be sold. As a result, 23 shops were closed the same day. The 434 dismissals include 100 at the company’s headquarters.
The union CGT decided to occupy bookshops, demanding higher allowances in the framework of the social plan.
