Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 25 January 2014, a PVC woodwork company Drutex announced its plans to create 700 jobs at its European centre of window and door woodwork in Bytów near Słupsk (the Pomorskie Voivodeship). The unit is expected to be operational in spring 2014.
It is also reported that the company has started recruiting, but that most of staff will be recruited in March and April 2014. Drutex will provide special trainings and workshops for the recruited staff.
The investment is worth approx. 200 mln PLN. Through this investment the company is to double its production capability.
Drutex, which was founded in 1985, is currently the biggest manufacturer of PVC woodwork in Europe. The company employs 1,840 people.
