Description

London Underground has announced plans to cut 750 jobs. This is due to a cost-savings plan, aimed at saving GBP 50 million per year via the closure of ticket offices, amongst others.

The company stated that it would seek to avoid compulsory redundancies. Labour unions have announced strikes that might take place in early February.

In 2012, London Underground had announced the recruitment of 300 new staff.
