Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Pharmaceutical and biotechnology company Baxter announced to reduce its workforce in Orth (Lower Austria) by 100 staff members.
This is due to a group-wide reorganisation in the wake of the acquisition of Gambro (7,000 staff) earlier this year. Within the same process, Baxter is planning to cease its operations in Bohumil (Czech Republic), making 280 workers redundant.
The company is a subsidiary of Baxter International, headquartered in the US and employing about 50,000 staff globally.
