Description
Italian cold cut producer Rigamonti Salumificio is to cut 104 jobs (out of 263) at its plants located at Montagna, Poggiridenti and Mazzo (in the province of Sondrio). According to the company, the reorganisation plan is mainly due to the drop in sales volume in the recent years.
The trade unions reacted to the company’s decision by going on strike and requiring some meetings with the company in order to know more details about the business plan.
Since 2011, Rigamonti Salumificio belongs to the Brazilian multinational food processing group JBS.
