European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Steel company Sideurgica Balboa will close its plant in Jerez de los Caballeros (Extremadura) and dismiss all 534 staff.
Although the company will have a meeting with the unions on the 18th of November, it has already announced that workers will be dismissed on 19th November.
In 2010, the company had announced the dismissal of 237 staff due to economic problems.
