The Greek government plans to cut 800-1,000 jobs from the state-owned EAS, ELVO and LARCO.

As reported, the restructuring of the defence industries Hellenic Defence Systems (EAS) and Hellenic Vehicle Industry (ELVO) as well as of the General Mining & Metallurgical Company (LARCO) was high on the agenda at the last meeting hosted by the Greek Ministry of Finance with the representatives of Troika in Athens.

According to the sources, the plans till now envisages the restructuring of EAS and ELVO and the operation of only one warehouse among them and the privatisation of LARCO.

As announced, the term set by the Greek side is that these dismissals should be considered as part of the previously agreed plan envisaging [4,000 job cuts in the public sector by the end of 2013](https://apps.eurofound.europa.eu/restructuring-events/detail/75674
