European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Pharmaceutical group Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK) is to reduce its workforce by 271 and to create 49 positions in France.
GSK announced to cut 89 positions iat its headquarters in Marly-le-Roy, 11 in its plant of Evreux, 3 in plant in Mayenne and 78 positions of medical representatives. The remaining 90 cuts are to be implemented by non-replacement of already vacant positions.
Furthermore, the group is to recruit 49 employees.
The restructuring takes place as part of a European-wide plan announced last February.
GSK employs 3,442 staff in France. In 2009, the company had already announced to cut 1184 staff in France.
