Description

German automotive supplier Trelleborg Vibracoustic is to cut 60 jobs in Breuberg (Hesse). Of the total job cuts, 40 are to affect services and 20 are to take place in administrative and development units.

The cuts are the result of weak sales and ongoing price pressure. To date, there is no specific time frame given for the implementation of the restructuring.

In addition to the job cuts, 80 jobs will be relocated mostly to the development centre in Weinheim. This measure primarily affects workers in R&D and is to increase efficiency.

The company announced talks with worker representatives.

In total, Trelleborg Vibracoustic employs 1,700 people in Germany and 8,000 worldwide. The Darmstadt based company is a joint venture of German Freudenberg-group and Swedish Trelleborg.
