Description
Trolli Bohemia, a subsidiary of the Germany-based producer of gummy candies, is to cut 154 jobs following the closure of its Plzeň plant by the end of 2013. The firm has already informed the local labour office about the lay off of all staff. According to company's CEO Paul Wagner, there are, however, chances of job retention for half of the staff. Still, the current 154 employees, the majority of which are women, are being given notices over the next month.
Trolli runs four factories in Germany, one in the Czech Republic, one in Spain, one in China, and is currently developing another factory in Venezuela. More than 150,000 tons of gummy candies are produced yearly within the International Trolli Group which employs about 2500 people.
