Description

Cable and steel wire manufacturer Sodetal is to close down, making all of its 325 staff redundant. This was announced by Sodetal’s parent company Saarstahl. There is no information on the timeframe of the closure. On 7 February, the Commercial Court will decide if the company will maintain its activities until May 2014 or if it has to be closed immediately. The German Saarstahl group had acquired Sodetal in 2008.

Updated, 28/05/2014: The commercial court of Bar-le-Duc has agreed the take over of the Sodetal plant of Tronville-en-Barrois (Meuse) by the Russian group AWT Russia that will keep 152 jobs on a total workforce of 316 employees.
