European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Vario 2000 is a kitchen furniture manufacturing company from Nazarje in the Savinjska region. In February 2013, the company was taken over by U.S. investment firm Cobe Capital. At the time of acquisition Cobe Capital commited itself to retain the existing jobs and production for at least a year. Nevertheless, in the beginning of September 2013, the owner decided to close down Vario 2000 with the consequent loss of 130 jobs. The reason is not stated but the company has been facing financial difficulties for some time.
