On 27 August 2013, the president of France Télévisions, the French public broadcast network, has announced its intention to cut over 600 positions by 2015. This restructuring follows the last one, announced in September 2012, that affected 500 positions (see France Télévisions). France Télévisions has to deal with a decrease of its budget allowance from the government and an important decrease of advertising contracts. The management wants to use voluntary departures and has informed its works council on 13 September. The management will now open a negotiation with unions on the content of the departure plan with the aim of starting job cuts before the end of 2013.

Update 15 October: The restructuring plan includes 361 positions to be cut by 2015 instead of 600 work places. The consultation process is to last until February 14th 2014, and volontary departures have to be announced until the end of June. According to the management, 500 employees have already left the group since January 2013.
