Description

On 1 August 2013, the largest Polish producer of boilers for industrial applications and boiler components Fabryka Kot?ów Sefako (Boilers Factory Sefako) announced its plans to implement a collective dismissal program, which will result in the loss of 150 jobs in the factory in S?dziszów (the Starachowice Special Economic Zone) by the end of January 2014. The dismissals will be carried out in production and administration departments. Reportedly, the restructuring programme is related to a worsening of the company's financial condition.

In July the company signed a bilateral agreement with the local trade unions setting out the conditions of the dismissal procedures. The company also cooperates with the Poviat Employment Agency in J?drzejów.

Fabryka Kot?ów Sefako was founded in 1974 as a state-owned company (privatized in 1994). In December 2012 the company was acquired by MARS Fundusz Inwestycyjny Zamkni?ty (MARS Closed-End Investment Fund). For a previously reported restructuring event please see Sefako-PO2008.
